Becoming a composer...
ELAR is an independent artist, pianist, composer, and music producer. His music career started at an early age learning how to play piano in Valencia, Venezuela. His Maestro, Gabriel Otazo Flores also taught him the foundations of music harmony and composition that allowed him to perform, at age 12, his first composition in front of a large audience. Since then, composition became his main interest as a performing artist.
Becoming a teacher...
Apart from being involved in music production and performance, he is passionate about teaching music and piano, with more than 6 years of experience teaching students of all ages. ELAR is constantly developing interactive and dynamic methods for learning music harmony, theory, and music composition and his primary intention is for his students to become independent musicians that are able to create and transform music as easily as he has learn to do so himself. He is currently designing a members area with the intention to provide a platform for students to enhance their understanding in these topics, practice and get lessons from ELAR online.

The science...
Music is only one of ELAR's careers. He began his scientific path when he moved to Germany where he studied a Bachelors in Chemistry for 3 years. He then continued his path in Zürich, Switzerland where he deepen his research skills and later last year obtained a doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry and Super-resolution Imaging from the renowned ETH Zürich. His prospective plans are to move early 2021 to Boston, USA where he will continue a post-doctoral study in clinical research in Harvard Medical School.

The story behind the music...
The fact that ELAR is constantly changing between the music and scientific world, makes him a unique composer that likes to correlate music themes to scientific topics, philosophical ideas and transcendental thoughts about our reality. These features makes his listeners connect deeper to his music and become aware of the powerful and controversial ideas he shares with the World. His current projects...
ELAR began to publish his themes late 2019 in his self-made home studio. Because music production requires additional skills to music composition and arrangement, he decided to dedicate most of his time in 2020 to learn production and mixing. He uses a Roland Electric Piano (HP506) as a musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) to compose the themes and orchestrate the additional instruments (strings, percussion, synths) in the digital audio workstation (Logic Pro X). He collaborates with professional master engineers (e.g. award nominee Stevan Krakovic) to master his songs prior to distribution.

ELAR releases approximately one piece per month. Recently, he composed an EP, called MMDC and plans to release the two remaining pieces before the end of the year. He also worked in collaboration with Jendel Artworks and composed a theme for the company and the logo.

One of his favorite projects is the monthly Livestream sessions! Often two per month, he plays requested cover songs by his fans as well as compositions and interacts with his listeners. Learn all about the Livestream sessions!
